The Cupboard

Here’s a list of ingredients I generally have in the house at all times. Of course I do get other things on a weekly basis but these can always be found kicking about the kitchen

Vegetables

Basics

  • Unsweetened Soya Milk – I buy the most basic, supermarket cheap brand soya milk which I use in tea, smoothies and any recipe that calls for milk. I do not hold with brands like Alpro for everyday use as they are too thick and sickly – they are OK for baking though in a pinch.
  • Alpro Soya Yoghurt – Plain or Vanilla – excellent for smoothies and pretty low calorie wise
  • Fats
Vitalite – dairy free spread, good for bread and baking
    – Olive Oil – for dressings
    – Vegetable Oil – for all other frying and greasing needs
  • Vegetarian burgers and sausages (I prefer the Fry’s brand)
  • Lemon Juice
  • Herbs – fresh basil, parsley, rosemary, chives
Spices – ground cumin, paprika, chilli flakes, mixed italian herbs
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Free Range Eggs
  • Sea Salt
  • Rainbow Pepper Corns

  • Bananas
  • Frozen Fruit – blueberries, mixed berries or tropical are the ones I tend to go for, I avoid prepacked smoothie mixes as they tend to be a rip off
